Jonhson Endura Stepping Stone

Innovations by H & R Johnson (India)

After dedicating months to experiments and research, H & R Johnson (India) have discovered an inventive way to design tiles for staircase treads and risers; which combine safety, durability and aesthetics, to create a revolutionary tile: the Johnson Stepping Stone Tile.

Conventional staircases are used in lieu of elevators in buildings and houses, and also play an important role as emergency exit areas in office buildings and commercial spaces. Under ordinary circumstances, staircases are generally laid using conventional marble and granite. This can be expensive, relying on manual labour for handling, fixing, and on-site cutting and finishing, which can also be a wasteful process, as it can lead to excessive amounts of material being permanently discarded.
If damaged, these tiles can stain and break easily, and so it also requires constant upkeep and maintenance.

It was recognising these gaps in the industry, which led to the conceptualisation of the Johnson Endura Stepping Stone Tile.

There are two main tile categories as part of this collection – the riser and landing area tiles (used for the larger step surfaces), and the step area tiles (used for the tread grip and nosing).

These full-bodied vitrified tiles come with bull nosing and tread lines, water and weather resistance, which make them skid-proof, and able to combat aging much better than conventional staircase tiles. Their modular size configurations also enable minimal wastage during the application process, as well as easy maintenance for years of trouble-free performance⊗
